    quest is biased and allows trash talk and hookers and solicitors which is illegal but they block people who just joke around, they are violating laws and FCC regulations. They are not supposed to listen to private messages but they do. They need to be reported. Started out as a nice line to meet intelligent people has turned to trash and moderators are power hungry idiots that are not fair at all, I would not pay for the service, have called for years and recently got blocked because my niece who sounds like me was joking around on my phone and someone reported it, Quest does not believe me and will not unblock me and this is ridiculous but I have heard a lot of trash. And to the guy who would rather call a sex line do so women in these chat rooms are not paid sex phone operators. Good grief. NO real loss the only time I called when I could not sleep don’t need it don’t want the trashy low life men on the line, this is a good thing no temptation.       Why don’t you just get a Google Voice number? It’s free and since you are assigned a new phone number, you can claim another free trial on every chatline. Its an app you download on your phone and it lets you make and receive calls on virtual line.

I still haven’t used all my free trials but I from my experience, Livelinks, Nightline and QuestChat are the best (I’ve been using chatlines since 2005).       Today, chatlines and party lines are one and the same. In the 60s and 70’s, when phone service was not as commonplace as it is today, the phone company would install a shared line for a whole building. This type of phone line were called “Party Lines” or “Party Wires”. Anybody who would pick up a handset would be able to listen to his neighbor’s conversation. They were frequently used as a source of entertainment and gossip.

      Greg. The only other reasons why the chatline might be rejecting your recording is because you are being too explicit or you are giving away personal information. Make sure your greeting does not include any sexually charged content. Even if your tone of voice sounds too sexy your greeting might get rejected. Start with a clean profile and keep the naughty comments (and the moaning) for the live 1-on-1 connections.

      If you still think there is a another user who is [unfairly] reporting you, contact the moderator by pressing 0 and tell him what is happening. You might even be able to request some free minutes for the inconvenience.

      Unless you call a 1-900 number, you cant be charged to your phone bill. 1-900 numbers are very rare nowadays since most major US telecom companies including AT&T and Verizon retired this service some years ago.

      With that being said, there might still be a few chatlines that operate through small, niche telecom companies that still offer this service, but we are not aware of any. The industry norm nowadays is to charge the caller’s credit card is. Note however that once a chatline has your credit card number on file, they can associate it with your account or (even your phone number’s caller id) and automatically charge it as you consume services . Read the chatlines’ terms and conditions or ask customer support for more info to make sure you don’t end up with unexpected charges which can be difficult to dispute.

      Lucky for us, chatline companies reset their used free trial databases about once per year. Some reset them every 6 months, other do it on January 1st. They do this because they know phone numbers are recyclable and as they change owners quite often.

      Your best bet is to call regularly and see if you are offered to try it free. Alternatively, you can call from a secondary line such as a google voice number or a disposable phone number app.

To improve these horrible lines, you people need to permanently block the he/she callers, and let the guys start calling for free, too. Because, your “chatlines” are as horrible now, as they ever were.

          Hey BamBam, I certainly feel your pain. I also wish chatlines were free for guys. The reason why chatlines are free for women is that if they’d allowed men to call for free, the phone chat lines would be so saturated, they would be unusable. You see, chatlines allow women to call for free for the same reason some night clubs allow girls in with no cover; it’s the hot girls that attract the [paying] males.

          You can always try to call from a different phone number, or if you own a smartphone you can try adding a secondary line to your device.

          Thank you for correcting me on the length of the trial for Livelinks. Im not sure if it was my mistake or if Livelinks changed the lenght of the trial. Chatlines are known to adjust the length of their free trials based on their business goals.

            You see, the chatlines are already “so saturated” with the same bogus/creepy/freaky/bizarre/strange/obnoxious ‘women’, they’re already beyond usable. So, giving men AT LEAST a few chatlines to call for free, would/should not be a problem. Phone chatlines and “night clubs”, are two TOTALLY different entities. C’mon, that’s apples and oranges! Not a good analogy at all! I’ve been calling chatlines, for the better part of thirty-years. To constantly allow these same ‘women’, to hang/camp out on the lines EVERY day/EVERY night, is just not fair.
            There should definitely be a limit to their calling. And, what about the guys pretending to be women???? They deserve to be permanently blocked from the system. You should refund the paying callers EVERY time, one of these creepy ‘he/she’s’ is on the line. What about the ‘women’ soliciting???? Constant “pay-to-play” messages. They, TOO, should receive a permanent ban! Bottom line, there is NO good reason/answer, as to why men can’t call some of these lines for free, too. You know it, as well as I do.
            These “chatlines” are seriously flawed, and need major improvement. If not, they should be shut-down. They’re worse now, than they’ve ever been. But, considering the state of today’s society, it’s hardly a surprise. In conclusion… set limits on the ‘women’ callers, permanently ban the ‘he/she’, and ‘pay-to-play’ callers. I mean, you FORCE the men to PAY to use these lines, but you do absolutely NOTHING to make the experience enjoyable?!? Talk about a scam, sheesh!

            You are right BamBam. Females who are not playing by the rules should be permanently banned from the system. It’s not fair for paying members to have to deal with prostitutes or males posing as females. Gay guys should call a gay chatlines such as GuySpy or Hardline.

            I do think chatline moderators try their best to keep the chatlines clean. However, it’s unrealistic to expect them to be 100% accurate when there are tens of thousands of new callers every day, especially since moderators cannot hear any of the private messages (where solicitations usually occur). That’s why chatlines rely on members reports to review and ban callers.

            The major chatlines are multi-million dollar businesses with huge
            advertising budgets. Like any other business, they have expenses and
            they are out to make a profit.

            If you want to chat for free, you can always call any of the Talkee free
            chatlines. They are usually not so full since they don’t advertise at
            all.

    In my experience, success depends on the quality of your greeting. I meet new people on these chatlines consistently. My secret? I spend at least 10 minutes to design, write down and record my introduction. I dont make it sexual (as most guys do). Girls actually end up contacting me, because I dont sound likeevery other freak.
    You have to step into a woman shoes and tell them what they want to hear. You need to communicate positive traits such as high intelligence, social skills, financial stability and physical superiority. Talk with a deep loud voice and make your message complex and clear and you will see that these chatlines do work.

      Carlos, you are totally right. There’s a lot of frustration among men calling the chatlines only to end up feeling rejected. Like you so succinctly put it, it is easy to get the girls if you just take the time and put in the effort to record a winning introductory greeting.

      As I see it, a chatline greeting is analogous to a dating site profile. The more effort you put into it, the higher your success rate is going to be. If you dating profile has no pictures, no description and it looks all spammy, no one will respond to you. In the other hand, if you build a great profile showcasing your best traits, plenty of flattering photos and a heartfelt and well written description, people will be intrigued to know more about you.

      Chatline greetings are the same. You have to differentiate yourself from the hundreds of other [male] callers, especially when you are using a free trial and your messages are placed at the end of the females’ message queue. (Chatlines give priority to paying members).

      Remember, girls are attracted to winners. Present yourself as a winner (even if
      you are not quite there yet), and people will gravitate toward you. Those guys who seem to get all the girls make an extra effort to look good. There is nothing wrong with a little self promotion, but some people just have low self esteem and find it hard to do this; blaming the chatlines for their failure when they really should be changing their approach.

      Just go to livelinks.com. When you visit the site it geolocates your IP and displays the local access number for your area. You can also enter an telephone area code and the website will provide the local access number closest to that area.

      You can also call the toll free number and ask supporrt for the local access number derived for your city.

          No Sally. Your computer does not have GPS. When you visit Livelinks.com, some basic website code detects the IP address of your computer. It then uses a service such as Maxmind to determine your location. IPs address ranges are assigned to different geographies, similar to how phone area codes are assigned to different counties. By looking up some of your IP octets in a IP database, it is possible to determine what state, city and neighborhood you are located in. Based on this information, the Livelinks website shows you a different access number that is local to you. This way, anyone can always access the chat line by placing a local call.

      It is not ethical to spoof your caller id. Just buy some minutes or get a subscription if you want to continue using the service. If you dont habe the money to pay for phone chat, you should not be doing it in the first place, You should be looking for a [better] job.

      Have you tried blocking your caller ID? On Verizon you just dial *67 before dialing the chat line number. If the chatline’s IVR system can’t see the phone number you are calling from, it wont know it has already used a free trial. I haven’t tried this but its worth a shot.

        About two years ago, my company Fusion Cube developed the entire software for a custom IVR system meant for a small dating chat line (which unfortunately never saw the light of day). With that being said, I am 100% certain that blocking your caller ID won’t help you get unlimited free trials. I just doesn’t make sense.

        It is the industry standard that free trials are given per phone number basis. If no phone number is reported to the phone chat system, the software assumes a default value of NULL. The system cannot associate a free trial to a value of NULL and even if it could (due to a bug), it would just award one trial every year or so. If you know a little bit of SQL you will understand that once the free trial is completely consumed, the system will automatically change a field — lets call it “free trial used” — to TRUE on the database entry for the telephone number NULL in the free trial table. So sorry, no loopholes here.

        Hey Carlos. I wasn’t getting any replies when I was using free trials. What happened is that all my messages (and live connection requests) where accumulating at the end of the queue. Girls were already chatting with some other guy by the time my messages reached anyone. In my experience, if you really want your messages to be heard by the ladies, you need priority, and to get priority you need to upgrade your membership. Theres no way around it. the hot /easy chicks always get picked up fast.

      Most chatlines are 100% free for women. You can try Talkee.com but you probably won’t find too many people on the line. I think TheSystem has a 7 day free trial and it is not in this list.

      As a licensed sex therapist I believe what you are describing is a clear case of sexual performance anxiety. Deep down, every time you interact with what you consider a potential female partner your brain starts to anticipates sexual activity, this causes it to switch into panic mode and trigger it’s fight-or-flight response, making it extremely hard for you to think on your feet and formulate articulate sentences.

      Unfortunately, for most guys suffering from this kind of disorder its very hard to get the help they really need. Traditional psychologist are usually not comfortable discussing a client’s sexual fears and desires. At the same time, patients are not likely to express their sexual frustrations if they are not encouraged to do so by their therapist.

      I think you could really benefit from a few counseling sessions with a professional sex therapist. Doing so might help you explore your sexuality and demystify the female gender which will help you gain the confidence you need to talk to women without fear.
